Lamaze Class

Introduced in the 1950's, Lamaze is a comprehensive childbirth education technique that revolves around 6 "Healthy Birth Practices." It consists of coping techniques to help ease the discomfort of labor and birth as well as statistical evidence to help you make the best decisions for you and your baby.

 

The 6 Healthy Birth Practices:

  • Let labor begin on its own.

  • Walk, move around and change positions throughout labor.

  • Bring a loved one, friend or doula for continuous support.

  • Avoid interventions that are not medically necessary.

  • Avoid giving birth on your back and follow your body's urges to push.

  • Keep mother and baby together.
